Freyberg Beach

Release is a space to spend time with a loved one, family or just take in the city views independently. Made from a durable cypress wood and a blend of tempered and laminated glass, the design is an arrangement of large, floating cylinders housing a range of features. Dining areas, a lookout and the relocated Freyberg Gelato Shop as well as glass transport spheres and a large launching pad are some other technical aspects. In relation to the Freyberg Gelato Store, ‘Release’ is a few 100m out off the pier’s edge and floating over the future Wellington harbour, giving you 360𝆩 views of the city at all hours of the day. The design connects all people together to escape the bustling city life in an entertaining and carefree environment. It's a space where you walk in, take a big deep breath and release.
